POST PLANNING COMMUNICATIONS
Having successfully navigated the local political and community landscape and helped secure a planning consent, PDI are often appointed by clients to handle post planning communications. This involves building a rapport with local residents and stakeholders and maintaining communication with them during the infrastructure delivery and construction phases. Ensuring residents are regularly informed and updated regarding all activity onsite helps to mitigate concerns and address issues promptly before they become serious problems that could result ultimately in potential programme delay and reputational risk.
PDI can provide the following key services to help facilitate this important phase of communications, including:
- Establishing a Community Liaison Group which incorporates key local stakeholders and community representatives that meet regularly to be updated on key activities and so the team can any address concerns
- The production of regular newsletters & e-newsletters to keep people informed and abreast of activity on site
- Coordinate and advise on community relations programme including school visits that can involve any archaeological finds, site visits conducted during the construction phase, road openings, local community outreach and sponsorship, as well as community action days – with the project team lending their time to a specific local causes, charity or project.
